FFF Challenge Announcement

My turn to pick the FFF challenge again. I decided since this Friday is the 4th of July that should be our theme. So anything patriotic will do. I have the perfect stamp for this one! I got it while we were in DC last year and it's time to dust it off.

So what do you do for the 4th? Any big plans? We have a BBQ to go to on the 5th, but I can't share the details with you yet it's kind of a surprise.

Don't forget to stop back Friday to see our Patriotic cards!

YOU'RE SWEET!!

I can't believe it's almost JULY!!! Where has time gone? The weather is finally warm and the days are longer - don't you love summer? Well, today is Friday and you know what that means... Fun-Filled Friday. Jen gave this weeks challenge and it was to use Bellas. I only own two so I went with Emmybella. I actually made this card to send to a friend to thank her for being "so sweet" to me.

For this card I started with my image (of course). I stamped it on plain white cardstock with black VersaFine ink. I colored my image with my Zig watercolor markers. I then matted the image on purple cardstock then again on black cardstock. Next I cut my pattern paper and matted that on black cardstock. Next I glued the ribbon to the matted pattern paper. Then I made a bow and glued it to the ribbon. Then I stamped the sentiment in the upper right corner. Then I glued my matted image on the pattern paper and glued the whole thing to the A2 size card base. I think I might be getting better at this whole bow tying thing.

Supplies: stamp by Stamping Bella, sentiment by Studio G, pattern paper by Fancy Kewl papers, cardstock by Bazzill, ribbon by Heidi Grace Designs, Zig watercolor markers, VersaFine ink, ATG gun.

Did any of you decide to play along with our challenge this week? I can't wait to see what you came up with. Stay tuned Sunday for our next FFF announcement.

A NEW LOOK!

My DH and I decided a couple months ago to have all of our landscaping re-done. I know pretty crazy huh? We had a brick paver path and patio that was not in good shape and was pooling water by the house. My DH decided to pull a couple of the bricks up by our door wall and the wood was all rotting (not good). So that is when we decided it was time. The company we hired started two weeks ago and finished up yesterday! It is so gorgeous. They re-used all of our plants and added more. We now have 5 blue spruce trees in our back yard to look at, and our patio is so nice. They had to lower our existing patio by about a foot and a half, and we removed alot of our original pathway since we never used it. I am so excited with how it all looks. Here are some pictures of the finished project.

Now I think I'll get some crafting done! Make sure you stop in tomorrow for FFF! We are showing off our beautiful Bellas.

More blog candy????

Well, I had so much fun with my blog candy I was starting to think I should make it a regular thing. What do you think? Of course I couldn't always make it as nice as this one was but I could give away a little something once a month or so. I have been getting alot of new visitors and thought that might be a nice way to help my blog grown and get some more people to play along with our FFF challenges. Let me know what you think of monthly blog candy. Did you like having to participate in the challenges to be eligible?

Thanks for all your comments and input and I really hope you all start playing along with our FFF challenges. Feel free to post your challenge ideas too, we can always use more ideas!

Hope you have a wonderful Tuesday. I am off to bed since I have to work tonight.

FFF Challenge Announcement

This week was Jen's turn. She decided we needed to use our Bella's. I only have 2 Bella's but I do have a few images from swaps. What kind of card should I make with these cuties? They always make great girlfriend cards!

Do you like Bella's? How many do you have and what are your favorite ones? I want to get more, but every time I go to the website I can't seem to narrow it down to just a few. No local stores carry them either so that's no help. What Bella would you be or haven't they made yours yet?

Make sure you check back Friday to see our creations!

Cropping with friends!

Well last night was one of our Shackie meet ups. Only 4 of us could make it but we had fun! My friend Beth taught me how to watercolor with Tombow markers and I was actually starting to get the hang of it. I was going crazy with color, which is something I usually don't do. Guess she is rubbing off on me a bit. I also got to stamp some of Kathy's new Pink Cat Studio images. They are so cute! I'm sure you will be seeing some of those on my blog soon. Jen and I closed the place out! We were the last ones in the store. I hope they weren't mad at us we just couldn't put our stuff down. I got alot of coloring and stamping done. We also celebrated Kathy's birthday and had chocolate cake! YUMMY!

I love our get togethers. We were at the Scrapbook Tree last night. I had never cropped there before, it was pretty nice, but we didn't know they don't provide drinks. So that was a bit of a surprise to us.

Hopefully we can get together again soon. I know it's always difficult during the summer with all the plans everyone has.

Stay tuned tomorrow for the FFF challenge announcement. See what Jen has in store for me:)

RUBBERNECKER CHALLENGE

Here's my attempt at this weeks RN challenge. It was to use black and white with a splash of color. What do you think?

I love this stamp! It originally has 3 girls but I liked the 2 for this challenge. I added the pink because of the pink flower in the girl on the rights hat. To make this card I stamped the image on plain white cardstock then colored in the black area's with my black zig marker. Then I used my prismacolor pencils blended with oms for the rest of the colors. Next I cut the image out and matted it on pink cardstock then again on black cardstock. Then I matted it again on pink pattern paper and glued the whole thing to the 5x5 card base. I added the little bow on the bottom because I felt like it needed something I got the ribbon in a swap so I am not sure who it's by.

Supplies : stamp - Rubbernecker, cardstock - Bazzill, prismacolor pencils, ribbon - unk

Hope you enjoyed this card. Thanks for looking!

FUN-FILLED FRIDAY

Well, this week has been pretty busy for me. I had switched days at work with someone so I could have last week off for my DH's surgery. So I had to work a couple extra days this week. Then things were really busy at home. We have decided to have our landscaping completely re-done! We have had a crew working all day for almost 2 weeks now. I will have to post some pictures when they are all done. It's gorgeous. We also had an interior decorator come in to help us pick out some paint for our basement walls. We started re-finishing our basement a few months ago and are at the paint point in the process. She picked out some gorgeous colors. I am getting a studio down there, and it is going to look fabulous! So with all these things going on I didn't get to start my FFF challenge until yesterday. But I did manage to try out 3 different unique folds and this was my favorite. (I posted 3 pictures so you could see how it swings open and sort of flips to reveal the greeting)

The very first thing I did was print up a tutorial from Splitcoast. This is a swing/flip flop card and you can see the tutorial here. Next I stamped the image and colored it with my Zig watercolor markers. Then I cut out the two flowers (the original image had 3). Next I cut the card base according to the instructions. Then I cut 2 pink pieces of cardstock to fit in the swing portion of the card. Then I glued the flower images on the pink cardstock and glued that to the card base. Next I hand wrote the sentiment "if friends were flowers... I'd pick you", on the second piece of pink cardstock and used my Marcy corner punch on the corners and glued that on the opposite side of the swing part. Then I added some ribbon that I had knotted in 3 places.

Supplies : stamp - Magenta, cardstock - Bazzill, ribbon - Bobbie M. Designs, corner rounder by Marvy Uchida, Zig watercolor markers.

I'll post the other unique folds I tried out in the next few days. But now I need to get ready for our Michigan Shackie meet up tonight! Yay! I am very excited to see all my shackie friends, it's been a while. I hope I actually get some work done, but more than likely I won't :) I'm usually too busy chatting away!

So did you try this weeks challenge? I would love to see your unique folds. And don't forget to check out Jen's card for this weeks challenge. Have a wonderful weekend.

FUN-FILLED FRIDAY!

Well, it's Friday the 13th, so thanks for stopping by for another FFF. This weeks theme was from Jen it was to use only black and white on a card. Here is what I came up with. I started this challenge by looking through my pattern paper and amazingly found this black and white paper. From there my mojo took over.

To make this card I started by cutting the pattern paper to 4"x5.25". Then I cut my card base from black cardstock to make an A2 size card. Next I stamped the sentiment on plain white cardstock using black versafine ink. Then I cut it to size and matted it on black carstock. Then I wrapped a piece of black ribbon around the front of the pattern paper and glued it on the back. I then glued the pattern paper to the center of the card base. Then I glued the matted sentiment to the center of card. Next I glued a white prima flower on top of a larger black prima flower and glued it to the upper left corner of the sentiment. I then added stickles to the center of the flower and the word birthday. Then let the stickles dry. VIOLA!

Supplies: stamp by Paper Inspirations, pattern paper by DCWV, cardstock by Archivers, ribbon by Bobbie M. Designs, black Stickles, Prima flowers.

I think this card is perfect for a birthday card for a girlfriend. Who doesn't love flowers? Well, I hope you are planning on playing along for some blog candy!

With it being Friday the 13th and all I was curious if any of you are superstitious? I am about a few things. Hope you have a wonderful weekend! I can't wait to hear from you and hopefully see some of your creations.

RUBBERNECKER CHALLENGE!

Here is my attempt at this weeks challenge. I used paint on the sentiment. So what do you think?

To make this card I stamped the image on plain white cardstock using black versafine ink. Then I colored it in using my Zig watercolor markers (from my secret sis). I cut the image and matted it on dark green cardstock. Next I stamped the sentiment using a silver acrylic paint dabber on dark green cardstock. Then I cut the sentiment out and matted it on the pattern paper, and again on a lighter green cardstock. Next I glued the matted image on the pattern paper (4"x5.25"). Then I glued that down on the card base (4.25"x5.5"). Then I attached the double matted sentiment using pop dots. I was very happy with how quick this was to complete.

Supplies : Image by Rubbernecker, sentiment by Studio G, cardstock by Bazzill, pattern paper by We R Memory Keepers, Silver acrylic paint dabber by Ranger, Zig watercolor markers, atg adhesive gun, pop dots.

Thanks for looking and Happy Crafting,

Kimmy

FUN FILLED FRIDAY!!!!!!

Another FFF is here! I will admit I am cheating a bit on this one, BUT I have a good reason I swear:) My DH is having surgery today and I have been so busy with trying to get stuff done around the house before he is out of commission for a few weeks. Well, this week I challenged Jen to make a masculine card. Lucky for I had made one at Shackapalooza for Father's day. So, here it is! What do you think?

To make this card I stamped the image on plain white card stock and colored it with prismacolor pencils blended with oms. Next I outlined the recliner with a grey marker and used chalk to color the background. Then I punched it out using a square scallop punch and inked the edges with grey chalk ink. Next, I matted it on grey card stock using the next size up of the square scallop punches and inked that with grey chalk ink. Then I cut a piece pattern paper 4"x5.25". and tore the bottom corner of it. Then I inked all the way around the pattern paper. Then I put a grey piece of paper behind it, and stamped "to wish you a". Next I added a silver square brad in the upper right corner, then glued that on my A2 card base. Then I glued the recliner image on the card using pop-dots. I also stamped on the inside "Happy Father's Day!"

Supplies : stamps - recliner by A Muse, "to wish you a" by Stampendous, "happy father's day" by Stampabilities; pattern paper - K & Co. Brookfield Vintage Diamonds; card stock - grey by Bazzill, black by Archivers; ink - black by Versa Fine, charcol by Colorbox chalk inks; eyelet by Bazzill, chalk, grey Zig brushable marker, atg gun, pop dots.

Thanks for stopping by to see our FFF challenge. Stay tuned for Blog candy coming soon!

I love hearing from you so please leave a comment, and join in our FFF challenges.
