Sympathy card

This card was pretty simple to make. I have such a difficult time with sympathy cards. The sentiment is nice, but I just couldn't seem to figure out what to do with it. Then I found this American Crafts paper and went from there. 1 stamp and a lot of layering is all it took to make this card.

I started by stamping the sentiment on the solid blue side of my double sided pattern paper. Then I cut it out and matted it on cream. I then matted it on the pattern paper and then again on the blue. Next, I cut a piece of the pattern paper to 4 5/8" x 6 5/8", I then matted that on the blue. I then wrapped a piece of blueish ribbon around the lower portion and glued that to my 5x7 card base. Finally I glued the matted sentiment to the center of the card front.

See simple! I will admit I like the layout, but I don't know if the paper went with the sympathy theme like I originally hoped. Don't forget to check out Jen's sympathy card.

So did you make a sympathy card this week? I have seen a couple all ready. It's been a long week and I promise this weekend I will draw a winner for August Blog Candy. I was very busy all week then somehow hurt my back so today I am trying to take it easy. Stay tuned Sunday for our next challenge.

Happy Crafting!

Supplies: sentiment - Paper Inspirations, ribbon by Michaels, pattern paper by American Crafts, Cardstock by Bazzill.

I made a sympathy card but I'm in no rush to upload it, I am not happy with it at all. I stink at sympathy cards. I will upload mine tomorrow and you will see what I mean.

Like you, if Chrissy made a card, it is beautiful. Yours turned out great.

I love the color choices you picked for this card! I think the paper goes well, especially since you kept things really simple here. I think you should submit this one too!
