For our FFF on August 1st we are going to try something different. You are going to give the challenge.

Please leave a comment on this blog post of what you would like to see me try. Jen will pick a winner for me from your responses (and I will pick one for her from her blog responses). We can pick one or even a combination of a couple. We will announce each other's on Sunday July 27. The bonus to posting a challenge - BLOG CANDY. FFF Challenge Announcement

Have you ever tried Dimensional Glaze? There are other brands but this is the one I have. It's a type of glue that dries completely clear and kind of gives things a glassy look. I use it quite a bit. So this is what I picked for this Friday's challenge.

What were you doing Ten Years Ago?

I was teaching Kickboxing classes and working part time at the local gym between college classes. I was going to school for engineering at Lawrence Tech University.

Five Things On Today's "To Do" List ...

1. Laundry

4. Polish Festival, but it’s raining so we might skip it

5. Get some paper crafting done (if I’m lucky)

I'm addicted to... paper crafting, stamping, my computer, blogging, sweets.

Pay off our debt, help out family and close friends, quit work, and maybe open a stamping store.

FUN FILLED FRIDAY!

Christmas in July!

Sorry it's been a slow week on my blog. I had a busy weekend, then a bit of a cold. On top of that I had to work an extra day this week to make up for being off last Saturday. I hope I am over my cold and can get back in the groove. We are definitely cooling off today with Jen's Christmas in July theme for this week. (btw have you checked out her blog?? She has started Sketch Wednesdays-I haven't had a chance to join in the fun yet!)

Here is my card for the week - let me know what you think.


For this card I will admit I was a little rushed, but I LOVE how it turned out. I started with my House Mouse image stamped on white card stock with black Stazon. I colored the image with my prismacolor markers and pencils blended with Gamsol. Next I cut and matted the image on Dark green Bazzill card stock. Then I cut a piece of the striped pattern paper to 4"x5.25" so that I would have a 1/4" mat on my A2 card base. Then I used my new SU! slit punch and made 4 slots to run my red ribbon through. I tied the ribbon in the center and glued the pattern paper on to the card base. Next I got out my Stamp-a-ma-jig (one of the greatest tools for stampers), and used that to stamp my sentiment. Finally I added my matted image to the front and I was done. So how does it look?

So, what's new with all my blogging friends? Any big plans for this weekend? I know we may go to the Polish Festival for a bit - it's a big weekend long thing here. Since my hubby is 100% Polish and I'm almost half Polish I'm sure we would enjoy ourselves. We can eat a ton of food and do a little Polka here and there:) Well, I hope things have slowed down for the time being. I am really looking forward into jumping back into my papercrafting. Stay tuned I am working on stuff for a new segment on my blog my "Make something Mondays". I figure it would be a good time to share some new things I have been trying and maybe you can share some new techniques or challenges with me.

FFF Challenge Announcement

WHEW it's already July! Where did time go? This week Jen is trying to cool us off with her Christmas in July theme. Time to put away the bikini's and get out the mittens! Santa Claus is coming for a visit this week. Now what did I do with all those Christmas stamps?

What do you do to cool off? Are you going to join us for Christmas in July? Makes me think I should get a jump on those holiday cards. - naw I got plenty of time :)

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!!!

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!

In honor of the 4th I am going red, white, and blue! Sorry for such a late Fun-Filled Friday post. Last night we were making chocolates for my sister-in-laws upcoming wedding and I finally finished my card in the wee hours of night and was too tire to type up my post. I was a little rushed to finish which is why it's a simple card. I always hate when I am rushed for my own challenge! Make sure you check out Jen's patriotic card!





So here's what I did. I stamped the Rubbernecker image 3 times on plain white card stock. I used my Prismacolor markers to color the full image once, the hat twice and the brim of the hat 3 times. Then I cut out the hat and then just the brim, and set those aside. Next using my glitter pen I added glitter to all the white areas of the image. Then I cut and matted the image on red then blue card stock. This card measures 5"x7" so I cute the pattern paper to 4.75"x6.75" and glued that to the card base. Next I glued the matted image to the pattern paper centered more at the top of the card. Then I used pop dots to glue the cut out hat over the original hat. And finally I used pop dots to glue the brim of the hat on top of that. I wanted the hat to have a 3-d effect.

Monthly blog candy!!!

It's July 1st so I figured I would announce that I will be giving away blog candy monthly! I finally decided - how exciting is that? Here's the trick for this month - every FFF challenge you participate in you get an entry, and I will toss in a few extra challenges throughout the month.
